stevenrosas: You know what the problem is? When talking or thinking about love, whether in it, or wanting it, many people overlook the most obvious part of a relationship; and that is, do you actually, really like that person. A lot of people think they fall in love, but it’s with people they don’t really know; or neither like, nor dislike; they just love them; which is really odd if you think about it. Isn’t love about both liking and loving that person you love? The sad fact is, a lot of people love the one they’re with, but not really so much the person that is actually filling that role; they seem to be more in love with the title, than the person, and this is generally because they don’t really like the person they think they’re in love with, they just love the feeling they receive from them. But then, there are people who do; who just really like the heck out of the person they are with. They love being with them, talking, laughing, hanging out, goofing around; just as much as they love being romantic and intimate. But because our society is so hung up on love in a relationship, rather than liking that person first, there is little guidance for those people who are in a relationship where they really do like the person they love a lot, but never really learn how to show them you know? If you like someone, it’s good to show it, it’s good to really like someone before you date them, it distinguishes the real from the fake. I think you have to crush before you like, like before you love and love before you fall in love. When you crush, you like that person and then when you like someone and want to get to know them, you have to show it, learn what you can about the person. Find out all of the things about them that make them smile. What makes them happy, what makes them sad, find out the things they admire and appreciate. What about all the other traits they have that you like so much? Tell them what you see and why. That’s how you distinguish the both. You have to get to know that person before you love them. That’s how you treat the one you crushed on, liked and now love. <3
